Community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Pediatric Palliative Care Spiritual Care Coordinator to join its expanding team.
Job Responsibilities:
The Pediatric Palliative Care Spiritual Care Provider / Chaplain is an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team responsible for assessing the spiritual needs of patients and their family members while providing the opportunity for spiritual exploration/ review in the context of medical complexities. The SCC makes visits to patients in private homes throughout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest. As a member of the Pediatric Palliative Care team, the SCC participates in programming and events including support groups, peer support, and the annual Pediatric Celebration of Remembrance.
Education, Skills and Experience:
Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education required
Experience in working with children required; medical, palliative or hospice experience preferred
Bilingual applicants preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated understanding of end-of-life and bereavement issues
Comfortable working with socio-culturally diverse patients/families of all faiths
Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment including existential pain and symptom management
Proficient with electronic documentation
