Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse

Kinds of Work:
Goodhue County Health and Human Services is seeking candidates to join the Family Health Department. This is a shared position with Goodhue County Health and Human Services and C.A.R.E. Clinic based approximately halftime in each location, with some opportunity for telecommuting. You will be providing home visits to support pregnant people, newborn babies, children, and families as well as working with C.A.R.E. Clinic, a nonprofit clinic serving under/uninsured community members, in program development and management.

Examples of Work:
 Provide family home visits to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children.
 Manage various programs within C.A.R.E Clinic such as the Patient Advisory Council, Food as Medicine Program, Diabetes Prevention Program, Hispanic Family Therapy Groups, Narcan and Fentanyl Strip Distribution, and more.
 Other public health duties as assigned.

 Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff members, and community partners.
 Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
 Ability to identify and utilize community resources in meeting the needs of clients.
 Ability to apply principles of public health to communities, families, and individuals.
 Ability to identify risks to both individual health and the community's health.
 Ability to make independent decisions.
 Demonstrates a willingness to take on increased responsibilities as necessary.
 A desire to work in and with the community of Goodhue County to support the health and well-being of individuals and families.

Minimum Qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree from accredited school of nursing, certification as a Public Health Nurse in Minnesota, licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota Or Associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or diploma from a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing and licensed as a Registered nurse in Minnesota.
 Valid Driver's License

The pay range is $32.51 - $37.38/hour, dependent on experience. Full time: 40 hours/week. The County's comprehensive benefit package includes medical, dental and vision insurance, health savings account, employer paid life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, Public Employees Retirement Plan, accident insurance, tax-deferred compensation, generous vacation and sick leave and 13 paid holidays per year. Completion of a Minnesota Merit System application is required.
