Community Hospital boasts a highly engaged and valued pharmacy staff that, when operating at full status, consists of 4 FTE pharmacists and 3 FTE technicians. We currently have a position open for a pharmacist to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity in that it will be normal pharmacy operations, as well as an additional opportunity for antimicrobial stewardship responsibilities. As such, Community Hospital desires a pharmacist candidate that not only enjoys the day to day activities offered in a CAH, but also has a keen interest in infectious disease and would welcome the opportunity to be highly engaged in an antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP). These activities would include, but not necessarily be limited to, participating in daily huddles with infectious disease to evaluate appropriate treatment, and following up with providers on ASP related recommendations.
Each pharmacist is a highly trained member of the health care team who has an ethical responsibility to assure that medication therapy is effective and appropriate. All pharmacists will adhere to the code of ethics of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, follow applicable state and federal laws, and provide accurate pharmaceutical services to patients of the hospital. Pharmacists are integral to all activities involving drug distribution, admixture, patient medication profile, drug information, ordering and inventory. Pharmacists will participate in the designing of the structure, scope, function and goals set for the department.
