Laboratory Supervisor
Laboratory Supervisor, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, OH. Responsible for overall operations of assigned laboratory section (Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory and Hematology Flow Cytometry). Oversight of processing/testing of laboratory specimens and technical decisions/direction (if applicable) in coordination with the Laboratory Director. Direction of workforce, problem investigation and resolution, developing and implementing procedures/processes, assuring quality and regulatory compliance tasks, assignment/delegation of duties, education/competency and training, and communication with a variety of different customers. Serve as a supportive link between staff, the Technical Specialist, Manager, Laboratory Director and other areas within the Laboratory Department.
Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical/Physical/Biological Science plus 5 years of experience or Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical/Physical/Biological Science plus 2 years of experience. Position also requires 2 years of experience with basic principles of molecular and cell biology, 1 year of experience using flow cytometry principles and methods, 1 year of experience using cellular and sterile laboratory techniques, and certification by ASCP or equivalent.
