OUTPATIENT THERAPIST
Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a part-time Outpatient Therapist to provide mental health services to adults and children 2-4 days per week. This individual will be responsible for providing assessment and psychotherapy treatment services in an office-based counseling setting. Successful applicants will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to work with people affected by trauma as well as other mental health issues/illnesses and co-occurring disorders. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and utilize evidence based practices, as well as possess excellent problem-solving abilities. This individual must be skilled, resourceful, organized, possess strong written/verbal communication skills, and have proficient computer skills. Experience working with youth as well as individuals with co-occurring disorders, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorder.
Staff selected for this position must be self-directed and also able to function as a member of a team. In addition, they will understand, educate and offer independent facilitation and self-determination in their provision of services. The candidate must be able to effectively establish rapport with clients and co-workers at all levels of the organization. The ability to help clients identify barriers to their success and develop person-centered solutions, as well as the ability to use de-escalation techniques is also essential.
Masters of Arts or Masters of Social Work degrees are required with appropriate State of Michigan licensure (LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, LLP) and a valid Michigan driver's license. CAADC or development plan candidate is preferred. This is a part time position, up to 32 hours per week. Flexibility to work on varying days of the week, if needed, is desired. Payment is on a per session basis and ranges from $50 to $90. Insurance is available after 90 days of employment, on a pro-rated basis, with maintaining 300 hours per quarter. NHSC qualified site.
