Texas Panhandle Centers Job Posting: Direct Support Professional V (Direct Care)
Amarillo Texas
Salary: $14.91/hour

Shift Available:
Full-Time (Wednesday to Sunday nights from 10 pm – 6 am; and any relief)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • The Therapist Tech V performs direct care for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting
  • Responsible for training, transporting, cooking, feeding, bathing, toileting, and other duties associated with daily living
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns of ethical and/or business standards defined in the code if compromised

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No experience required
  • Must have a minimum of eighth grade reading-comprehension level as evidenced by score on the
  • Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years or age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Some experience in therapeutic activities
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus
  • Four (4) years of experience in teaching multi-disabled adults in groups and individual settings through Person Direct Plan methodology
  • Four (4) years working experience in performing, training, and monitoring behavior therapy techniques and response documentation
