VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT                                                   

YANCEY COUNTY is seeking a qualified individual for the following position:

TITLE: Paramedic, Yancey County EMS

   Full-Time Position and Part-Time Positions

Paramedic I - $21.00
Paramedic II - $23.50
Paramedic III - $26.00

DESCRIPTION:  Under the supervision of the EMS Director, performs basic and advanced life support, stabilization procedures, and emergency medical care at the paramedic level of training and certification and performs equipment operation duties on a twenty-four-hour shift providing EMS services for the County.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Graduation from high school supplemented by:

            Possession of a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification.

            Possession of a North Carolina Hazardous Material Level I certification.

            Possession of a North Carolina Emergency Vehicle Driver certification.

            Possession of ACLS, PALS or PEEP, BCLS, ITLS certifications.

            Possession of a valid North Carolina “Class C” driver’s license.

LOCATION:  Primary duty station for the position is the Yancey County EMS located in Burnsville, N.C.

SALARY:  Pay Rate dependent upon education/experience.
